It's All Good With RELISH!

Once upon a time, I made a menu and a grocery list and sent The Dad to the store for me. He returned with a bunch of stuff that I didn't need and left a bunch of stuff I did need at the store. I vowed right then and there that he would never shop for me again.

Then I forgot that I made that vow and got busy with life and asked the dad to do the menu planning and grocery shopping. We had sausage casserole, chili, chili and sausage casserole that week. Clearly, this wouldn't work either.

I vowed, again, that I would be in control of everything and The Dad would just be my minion. It would totally work.

Then a little thing called Relish! came along and freed my soul. Relish! offers weekly menus (with a plethora of archived dishes), a menu planning tool, AND a shopping list generator. I was thrilled to receive the subscription, obviously. Let me tell you how this has changed our family.

Before Relish!: I would sit down with my calendar and notebook and ask the family what they wanted to eat for the week. An hour later, their whining would die down and I'd have a very narrow list of meals that would be eaten.

After Relish!: I sit down at the computer with The Daughters on either side of me and we quickly select meals that we all can't wait to eat, like Cheesy Chicken Rollups and Buttermilk Unfried Chicken.

Before Relish!: I would write out a list of groceries, inevitably forgetting something that was important, like eggs or chicken.

After Relish!: I click "Create Shopping List" and then click Print and the list and recipes print out.

Before Relish!: I, and only I, could go grocery shopping if I wanted to be able to use the groceries for any kind of meal that wasn't chili or sausage casserole. And if The Dad did go to the store, I could expect no less than sixteen phone calls or texts with such queries as "What kind of eggs do we eat?" and "I'm not buying mushrooms--gross" and "What does crmchkn mean?"

After Relish!: I hand the print out to The Dad and he returns with what I need for our meals (and some other stuff). And the only text I got was "Make the Praline Pork first."

Their service is only $7 a month. BUT, because I am so loving Relish! and have told them so, they are offering you a very special deal: If you join Relish! and enter the code MINIVAN when you subscribe, and you'll receive 15% off of your membership.

Be sure to keep up with Relish! all over the world wide web as well:
