Q. What is the working title of your book?
![]() |
| Until Overhsaring My Life and Getting Frisky come out, be sure to snag up a copy of my ebook! |
A. The title is Getting Frisky. It was originally titled Sexy Momma, then Undercovers, then when we found a cool cover, we changed the name again and again. For now, we're calling it Getting Frisky.
Q. Where did the idea come from for the book?
A. Before we had kids, Brian and I did it like rabbits. Our sex life has always been fabulous and frequent ... then my libido got snuffed by a pair of girls who are giggly and gorgeous and complete party poopers for their parents when it comes to having a sex life.
Q. What genre does your book fall under?
A. Getting Frisky is a collection of humorous essays. It is at all like 50 Shades, but it is all about our sex life, without being graphic.
Q. Which actors would you chose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
A. If this were a movie, Paul Rudd would play Brian and Emma Stone would play me. The only reason why she would play me is because she's a gorgeous little thing and I'd like to be little ... as in petite. I'd also like to be a (natural) redhead.
Q. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
A. Getting Frisky: Gettin' some without losing our minds.
Q. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Q. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
A. Again, I adore Celia Rivenbark. She's is my queen. I plan on sending every single one of my books to her until she replies, even if it is a restraining order. Another of my favorite authors is Lauri Notaro--she has a new book coming out in May; be sure to check it out.
Q. Who or what inspired you to write this book?
A. I read a couple of "sex every day for a year" books and slept through them. I asked Brian what he'd do if I gave him sex every day for year. We had a good laugh. Then we sat for a full five minutes trying to remember the last time we had actually had sex. Being a parent and being a lover often times fight for our attention. So, we made a concerted effort to spice up our sex lives. And ... well ... like everything else, the concerted efforts led to hilarity. And, I wrote (am writing) about them.
Now, my question to you is this: What do YOU do to keep your love life spicy?
