OWB Challenge: FOOD

Today's Oklahoma Women Blogger's challenge is For The Love of Food.

Anyone who has been around my casa at dinner time knows that I am not a cook. If it can't be thrown together in just a very few moments, it's not gettin' cooked by me.

This week has been beyond crazy with activities. We've barely had time to drive through McGaggles and choke down a McChloresterol on a bun. Thursday evening--Valentine's Day-- found Brian and me home at the same time with Daughter 1. Daughter 2 had play practice for the Missoula Children's Theatre performance of Secret Garden. (She's Sheep 2 and she rocks it.)

In an effort to have some sort of nod to the holiday and to make the first home-cooked meal in over a week, I looked into my pantry and channelled The Daughters, "There's nothing to eat!"

Quickly, though, Daughter 1 and I put together Pizza Pasta. It was yummy. It was eaten by everyone who was at home during dinner. There were leftovers, so lunch was taken care of the next day. I scored . That never happens.

Pizza Pasta
1 box of spaghetti
1 jar marinara
a handful of pepperoni
a handful of pre-cooked sausage
a few diced onions
a very few diced green peppers
a couple of sliced mushrooms
a small container of cottage cheese
a handful of shredded mozzarella cheese
Cook the pasta and then mix in the rest of the stuff. Pour it all into a greased casserole and cover with more shredded cheese. Bake at 350 or 400, hell, it may have been 450--I don't know!--until the cheese is bubbly.
Serve on paper plates with mismatched silverware and wine poured over ice in Solo cups. (The color red is optional.)
