Me: We're close to wearing the same size shoes! I may be able to wear your new boots.
Daughter 1: Really, Momma?
Me: Really! So... {winking at her} can I borrow your new boots?
Daughter 1: Ummm... If you borrow my boots, do I borrow your shoes?
Me: Sure!
Daughter 1: Do I have to?
Me: Well, no.
Daughter 1: {audibly sighing} Oh thank God! I don't like any of your shoes. No offense. I mean, maybe I'll like them when I'm middle age, but definitely not now!
