I took last week to recoup from my knee being a pain in the a$$. (It's a very talented knee in that it can travel up my anatomy.) The weekend was spent at my family summer get-together, where I did walk a mile from the waterfalls back to our cabin. And Monday found us with some great friends visiting from out of state. Tuesday was my return day. Let's start there, shall we?
Tuesday, June 19 - Due to an unruley, tired and deteriorating shower pan, we've have chaos in our master bathroom. That has resulted in our having to share a bathroom with The Daughters. Gulp. This really isn't bad because it's summer and they are using the swimming pool for the majority of their bathing needs. (Don't call human services; they already know.) But, yesterday, I trotted into The Daughters' bathroom and slipped on something. We'll just leave it at something because I'm not sure I want to speculate on what it was. My left leg went out in front of me as if to do the splits; my right leg bent as that knee banged into the tile and my left arm grabbed the door frame. In a matter of seconds, I was Tebow-ing in the middle of hte bathroom. Only my one leg was extended straight out in front of my and my arm was straight up from my body. Also, I was not saying very Tebow-ish type words. I spent the afternoon with ice on my neck, shoulder, knee, toe. Yes, toe. I'm not a baby, but I do sound like one on this blog.
Wednesday, June 20 - I'm not even sure Wednesday happened. All I know is that I got out of bed and grabbed the library's copy of
Fifty Shades Darker (which did not seem darker to me at all) and then I finished it and it was bed time.
Thursday, June 21 - Woke up thinking it'd be a nice cool day to pick up my walking again. I walked 2 miles in the muggiest, humidiest weather ever. Maybe not ever, but ever for me. 2 miles in 35 minutes. Not bad, huh?
Saturday, June 23 - My mantra on my 2-mile walk was this (feel free to steal for yourselves):
Oh. My. GawdIt'sHot. Oh. My. GawdIt'sHot. In case you were wondering, it's hot; I don't do hot well.
Join me, won't you? Let me know how you're training and then plan on joining me in Edmond, OK for the Hot Mamas Run! Remember: You can run, walk, jog, or any combination of those. Will I see you there??
