Every Sunday and every Wednesday from now until December 19, Minivan Momma will be hosting a giveaway. This kicks off the season of givingAWAY.
Fifteen years ago, The Dad and I were officially engaged on Thanksgiving weekend. It was also our first official Christmas together as a couple. To commemorate the larger-than-life occasion, I bought him a watch. It was a very expensive and fancy watch. Up to this point, I hadn't seen The Dad actually wear a watch, but I was certain that was only because he didn't have an expensive or fancy watch. He wore the watch at the obligatory times: family holidays, our wedding. Then? The watch disappeared. Weird, huh?
For our second Christmas, I got him a fancy pen and brief case. I think he used the pen to sign my Christmas card. Beyond that, I'm not sure I ever saw that pen again. And I got $10 out of the brief case at a garage sale a few years later.
For our third Christmas, I got him a ping-pong ball gun as a gag gift. It came with a total of three ping pong balls. By December 26, I had hidden the gun. By December 27, he had found the gun and bought more ammo-to the tune of an additional twenty ping pong balls. The point of all this is say that I had it all wrong. Men don't grow up, they grow bigger. All they really want for Christmas is a toy. And do I have a toy for you!
Xenon Project wants to make you (and the boy in your life) happy this holiday season. Together we are giving away one of our readers a Mini Gyro (Red) Remote Control Helicopter! (US Residents only, please.)
To enter, just follow the directions on the following Rafflecopter. The contest will end Sunday, December 3 at 12:00 AM Oklahoma time.
Good luck!
EDITED on DECEMBER 28, 2012:
A winner was selected, and Xenon was notified on December 3. The email bounced back. I attempted to call them on December 4. The phone rang unanswered. I finally heard from my contact at Xenon a full week later. He assured me the helicopter would be shipped that day, December 11. By December 18, my winner had not received the helicoptor. More emails went unanswered. On December 20, I emailed my contact again and told him that I wanted the helicoptor in the hands of my winner within a week. On December 24, I received an email with a tracking number. He said the helicopter had been shipped. It was delivered to UPS on December 24 and arrived at my winner's home on December 28.
I realize that Christmas is a busy time and that Xenon is a new, start-up business, but if they weren't capable of handling this giveaway in a swift and business-like manner, then they shouldn't have approached me (I did not approach them) with this giveaway at this time. I will not be doing business with them, and I apologize for not investigating this company and their reputation further before agreeing to the giveaway.
